Two ways to work out your 9x tables.

These are 2 ways to do your 9 times tables. I know this probably make no sense but here it is.

Doris Humphrey

Doris Batcheller Humphrey was an American dancer and choreographer of the early twentieth century. Doris Humphrey was born in 1895 and she died in 1958.
She wrote a book called the art of making dances,her book was published in 1959 which was the year after she died.
She was born in Illinois USA. 
She was forced to retired dance because she had severe arthritis in her hip.
She started dance at the age of 8 and became a dance teacher at the age of 18.

How to write a good comment

• Today we were learning about how to write a good comment.
  
• Use More words rather then exclamation points
• It's Good to end a comment with a question
• Your comment becomes apart of your digital footprint
• Everything you post is permanent so don't share anything personal
• Compliment the writer in a specific way
• Whenever you leave a comment it's always nice to open with a compliment
• Add new factual information
• Make a connection
• Only make a comment is its positive

Careers

This week we have been looking at careers, we had to do this quiz so we could find our ideal jobs.
These are my top three >

• paramedic
• registered nurse
• surgeon

Now its the 18/6/19 and tomorrow is the careers expo we are running for the y6s.

The career I chose was paramedic I chose that job because it was something that interested me.
For the careers expo I make pamphlets, a slide show and a poster.

This is my slide show.
Its mainly about paramedics and what the do for a living.

NYLD (national young leaders day)

NYLD

On Thursday 30th May students from all over Christchurch, entered the Horncastle arena for NYLD.

At NYLD we listen to some really inspiring people that teach us the qualities a good leader should have.

The first speaker was Christian Gallen. He taught us was not to eat dog food, so that was great

The next speaker was Sala Tiatia, he taught us about the things we should whakarongo to and the things we shouldn't.

Next up was Ronnie Taulafo you might know who he is. He spoke about what weaves us together.

After that Dr Lehan Stemmet, talked about what the food of a leader was...conversation.

The story of Kupe and the giant Wheke

This week we have been looking at the story of Kupe and the giant Wheke, apart of out work was to make a slide show retelling the story useing only one word or phrase.

My Work Reflection

Rotations

Today we did our weekly rotations.
We started with Nogo and we learned how to have a conversation in Moari and how to say hello in a few different languages.
Next up we had Julie, with Julie we did arts. We talked about the different types of arts.
Like painting/drawing,singing and dancing, and acting.
After that we were with Sharon and we watched a movie called holes and we had to watch the movie and read the sub tittles at the same time trying to find the word MY in the sub tittles.
Once you find the word MY write down the word after it.

MILO goals

For my MILOs I am doing a dance with some of my close friends.
Next time we do MILOs we will find a song to dance to and make up some moves.

Learning goals

For my learning goals I want get better at reading books that have a bigger words to expand my vocabulary.I want to get better at my division.
